The history of the entire Europe has been written in Bohemia: in 1866, Austrian and Prussian armies clashed near Königgrätz (today Hradec Králové). Almost half a million soldiers fought in the biggest battle that ever took place in the Czech lands. It forever altered the course of European history and upended lives of many locals.
Unique historical application adds to and expands the exposition in Museum of the War 1866.
Follow the footprints of soldiers, farmers and children. Memories come alive in interactive comics and emotional soundscapes. You will get a better grasp on what it was like to march into a battle in the 19th century or how it feels to hear cannonade from inside your home. You’ll use the augmented reality to examine artillery pieces or fortifications and a detailed encyclopedia will give you historical context.
In order to access all of the app’s content, you’ll have to visit the Museum of War 1866 and surrounding areas.
The app is available in Czech, English and German.
